Petrographic Study of Thermal and Shock Metamorphism of the Hungarian

چکیده

Introduction We investigated two processes in a series of the Hungarian L-chondrites: shock and thermal metamorphism. Thermal metamorphism transforms the textures in the relatively small chondritic planetary body. Shock metamorphism is caused by hypervelocity impact processes transforming texture and mineral structure mainly in the outermost layers of the chondritic planetary body [1,2]. The purpose of this optical microscopic study is to indentify the degree of thermal metamorphism and stages of shock metamorphism in the selected Hungarian meteorites, which have not been described well, up to date.

4 Search for Petrographic and Geochemical Evidence for the Late Heavy Bombardment on Earth in Early Archean Rocks from Isua, Greenland

The Moon was subjected to intense post-accretionary bombardment between about 4.5 and 3.9 billion years ago, and there is evidence for a short and intense late heavy bombardment period, around 3.85 _+ 0.05 Ga. If a late heavy bombardment occurred on the Moon, the Earth must have been subjected to an impact flux at least as intense. The consequences for the Earth must have been devastating. In a...

Mineralogy, metamorphism and geothermobarometry of the Ghandab metamorphic Complex, SE Fariman, NE Iran

The study area is located about 110 kilometers southeast of Mashhad and approximately 40 kilometers southeast of Fariman. The area is considered to be a part of the central Iran zone. It includes metamorphic rocks with different protoliths consisting of pelitic, carbonate and quartz - feldspathic rocks. The metamorphism in the study area is considered to be a contact regional metamorphism with ...

Study of Events and Phases in Robat-e Zengejeh Area (Southwestern Bardaskan)

Robat-e Zengejeh rocks affected by a variety of events began from Precambrian. This research studied preserved effects of the events. Regional metamorphism is the oldest event in this rocks include schist, amphibolite and orthogneiss, that reached up to amphibolite facies. After this regional metamorphism, it seems that mesocratic (624±5Ma) and hololeucocratic granitoides intruded respectively....

Volatile element chemistry during metamorphism of ordinary chondritic material and some of its implications for the composition of asteroids

Please cite this article in press as: Schaefer, L., Fe implications for the composition of asteroids. Ic We used chemical equilibrium calculations to model thermal metamorphism of ordinary chondritic material as a function of temperature, pressure, and trace element abundance and use our results to discuss volatile mobilization during thermal metamorphism of ordinary chondrite parent bodies. We...

Petrographic Evidences for the Origin of Iron in IOCG IronDeposits of Kuh-E-Faryadoon and Kouli-Kosh, Southeast Central Iran

Kuh-E-Faryadoon and Kouli Kosh iron deposits are hosted by regional metamorphic rocks of Sanandaj-Sirjan zone around Deh-Bid area. Plugs and domes of acid rocks protrude these metamorphic rocks. A mylonitization event is super imposed on acid rock and metamorphic complexes. Field, petrological and geochemical studies have shown that (1) Iron mineralization have occurred during mylonitization in...
